Emissions inspection (vehicle or transaction-specific branch): Maximum fee: $25. The station-set emissions inspection fee is capped at $25 and must be posted on the official GCAF sign.

Emissions inspection (vehicle or transaction-specific branch): No inspection charge. The first retest is free at the original station within the official 30-day window.

Emissions inspection (vehicle or transaction-specific branch): Maximum fee: $25. The station sets the retest charge up to Georgia's official $25 cap because the one free same-station 30-day retest conditions are not met.

VIN / identity inspection: Amount set or confirmed by the listed authority. The reviewed Georgia title checklist and T-22B do not publish one statewide consumer inspection fee; confirm any charge with the completing law-enforcement agency.

What to bring

Current registration or renewal notice; Vehicle Inspection Report from the failed test; Repair documentation requested by the official program; Vehicle for the physical public-VIN or serial-plate inspection; Form T-22B Certification of Inspection completed by a Georgia law-enforcement officer; Out-of-state title, non-title-jurisdiction registration, or other ownership document for the transaction

High-impact exceptions

• A vehicle moving from a noncovered Georgia county with a current Georgia registration does not need an emissions certificate at the county move; the test becomes due at the next registration renewal.
• No new test is due for this transaction when a still-valid passing Georgia Vehicle Inspection Report is already on record. GCAF allows the prior owner's valid VIR for initial registration and the new owner's next renewal while it remains within 12 months.
